A little bit about me: One year ago I was sitting in a posh office in downtown London, about to start my life in the business world. And then catastrophe struck: I downloaded an MP3 onto my computer at work. Harmless, don't you think? Two days later I found myself fired, fined, and jailed. Collateral damage of the digital age.

A little bit about me: Hello, Internet! It's me, Henry Scott. You've probably heard of me. If not, here's a primer. I've been a stand-up comedian in London for the past few years, before I realized my true calling: blogging. I didn't like the comedy world much anyway. Too many agents. I hate agents. In November 2005 me and my best buddy Mark packed up for New York City, and here we are, proud parents of BathTubYoga. What else? I like Ginkgo Biloba and Ginseng, and women love me.

Every day there are about a bajillion news articles and blog posts about the Internet revolution, the way that web 2.0 is changing our lives, we're all turning into computers, etc. Why should today be any different?
Noah Brier, a writer in NYC, writes a post about The Social Revolution in response to a NYT article about the "millennials" the generation born between 1980 and 2000 that uses the Internet for everything. Noah writes, "Consider how quickly blogs have risen to prominence: The traditional media structure where one guy at the top decides what you read in that days paper is over. It's being replaced with RSS readers and recommendation systems in which you and your peers edit your news on a daily basis."
Yeah, it's the same old crap about web 2.0, but Noah says it well. I had a quick fantasy of running into Noah at a bar and talking for hours about our favorite web sites, and then maybe starting a Facebook group called "Millennial who know they're Millennials and like talking about cool websites". I can dream, can't I?
Meanwhile, all sorts of lists have been compiled in the last few days. Pete Cashmore lists all the News 2.0 websites, continuing the trend of adding "2.0" to anything in order to make a new industry buzzword. Seriously, can that stop? Please? Michael Arrington lists all the companies and products that he's reviewed on TechCrunch, a veritable what's what of web 2.0. And BrandChanel comes out with a list of the top brands of 2005, with tech companies making up 3 of the top 5 (Google, Apple, and Skype).
